Bell Repair Fund Treasurer's Report

The Bell Repair Fund continues in good health and income this year has risen slightly to £5800.  Fund raising income is lower than last year mainly due to the donations received in 2010 from several Derby 2010 Central Council events.  There is also a large difference in peal fees received - fees for peals rung in the latter part of 2011 were not received before the year end and will appear as 2012 income.

Expenditure this year has been quite low - only one grant, to Derby St Luke and no loans being paid, but grant payments to Staveley and Shirland are imminent.  A grant and loan are still on offer for Sandiacre and the fund has reserves to be able to offer a grant and loan to Alfreton when this major project is ready.  At the year end 42% of the fund assets are currently assigned to bell restoration projects.

In the forthcoming year the Committee is hoping to streamline the structure of the BRF management - not to change its operation but to make it more flexible and able to respond more quickly to the requirements of bell restoration in Derbyshire.
