Treasurer’s Report for 2011

The Association Finances are in a robust state.

Money came in from the Worthington Cup but there appears to be no expenditure!  It was Nottingham’s turn to arrange the competition.

The Horsley Cup did not make any profit this year.  In fact it proved a costly affair.  Perhaps some further thought is required in the future.

The visit of our Youth Team to the celebrations for the Centenary of the Ringing World was a well worthwhile venture.  They were a young team (average age 13½) compared to some of the other eleven teams taking part. They performed well and are to be congratulated.  I feel that it was money well spent from the Association’s funds and I would encourage a repeat for this year when the competition is expected to be in Birmingham.

I feel more could be made of advertising in the Ringing World especially for District Meetings.  It does encourage the occasional visitor from outside the Diocese.

There was over £300 in unpresented cheques at the year end thereby swelling the profit on the year.  Please bear this in mind when looking aghast at the year’s profit.

Again, there has been a drop in the membership this year.  Is this natural wastage or should we be looking to recruitment?
