The Annual District Quiz Night was however very well attended, around 60 people enjoying a sociable evening at the Angel Hotel, Spinkhill hosted by Eckington Ringers. A team comprising ringers and non-ringers from Tibshelf and Chesterfield found themselves with the 'honour' of hosting 2003's event despite finishing second!
The heats for the Arthur Ashby and Horsley Cups striking contests were held at Pentrich, and only two teams entered in total. Eckington went through to the Arthur Ashby Cup final with a total of 171.5 points and Old Whittington, ringing Oxford, went through to the Horsley Cup with 210.25 points going on to win the Newman Cup.
This year's Car Tour was held at 6 towers in the Loughborough area providing all those who participated with a good day out.
Another well attended event of the year was the Car Treasure Hunt, again organized by the Eckington Ringers.
My thanks go as usual to the committee for their continued support, and appreciation is expressed to all Tower Captains and Incumbents for their contribution to the year's events.
