Help Raise money for your Bell Restoration Fund

£909 raised in 2003

Webb Ivory is available to individuals who wish to raise money for a chosen charity, in our case the B.R.F. Any sales made through them qualify for a portion of that sale to go to the chosen charity, up to 25%.

During 2002 we managed to raise £105, which due to a scheme run by my employers meant this figure was matched by them. This year we were able to increase this to £116.23, and my thanks are due to everyone who kindly supported this venture, some doing the majority of their Christmas shopping this way. Again I have applied to my employers to kindly match this amount, which would mean a figure of over £232 raised.

Although Christmas is a long way off, we are already making plans to have catalogues available from the end of August. We will arrange for Association Officers and Branch Secretaries to have a copy. Please do have a look and place an order, all goods are competitively prices and good quality. They have a really good range of presents for Christmas, especially for children, and their variety of Christmas cards and wrapping paper is excellent. Anyone throughout the D.D.A., friends, family and ringers in neighbouring associations, can place orders. Just because you may not live near us it doesn’t matter, we will arrange delivery.

This year we have tried a new venture along with the catalogues. We purchased a stock of general cards & wrapping paper from Webb Ivory to sell. These we have been taking to various events to display and sell, as well as to friends and family. You will be seeing this again during 2004 and I hope you will have a look at them; these generate more income than the “up to 25%” received from catalogue items.

These easy fund raising opportunities cannot be turned down, but we need your help. We are currently selling more to family and friends than D.D.A. members. Support us and order for Christmas and/or buy from our stall. If you have any queries, or comments, please email . Orders can be placed by either of the above two methods, also by hand or post, payment with order please. Thank you.

During 2003 I have managed to secure matching for two other events where profit goes to the B.R.F. A favourite way of raising money is by running the bar at Barn Dances. We visit the court to obtain a licence to sell alcohol. This is followed by a trip to the cash and carry for the wine, cider, soft drinks and snacks. A barrel of real ale is purchased from Leadmill Brewery, Denby. Any left over produce is sold to friends and family, thus increasing the profit. The Society of Royal Cumberland Youths had their summer country meeting in Derbyshire. We ran the bar at their evening Ceilidh, this raised a total of £222.42, receiving another £222 under the £ for £ scheme. The SRCY kindly agreed we should put the bar profit to a local fund, we chose the B.R.F. In November the Derby District held a Barn Dance, organising the bar we raised £116.80, which was matched. Does this mean the Cumberland Youths drink more than the Derby District members?

Do you know if you have a similar scheme available from the company you work for? Make enquiries, even if you do not wish to organise anything for the Association, what about for you own tower? All of us need funds for our own tower B.R.F.

Once again thanks for all your support and here is to a successful 2004.
