The Right Reverend Jonathan S Bailey
I am pleased to have this final opportunity, as Patron, to express the appreciation of so many people to all involved in bellringing in the diocese, and to the officers of the Association.
The involvement of so many people in the numerous tower and handbell-ringing bands is testimony to the potential for this activity to include people of all kinds, younger and older alike. Bellringing is an exercise in team working and service to the Church and local community. It is also the means of social activity and learning. May many more join your company!
As I prepare to leave Derbyshire, amongst the many happy memories I shall take with me are the sights and sounds of the peals in the diocese, and more importantly of the many ringers I have met and have come to know. I wish you all well, and trust that you will offer an equal friendship to my successor.
With my prayers and good wishes,
